CINNABAR SCHOOL

(Picture unavailable)

Cinnabar School District was organized in 1867 (or before; all county records were lost in the February 1867 courthouse fire) The district took in a great deal of territory east of Lower Lake, including Morgtan Valley. In 1870 the Morgan Valley School District was formed from a part of Cinnabar and took many of the students. In May 1870 the Sulphur Spring School District was formed from another part of the Cinnabar District and the Cinnabar School soon closed. The area is now a part of the Middletown School District.

There is little information beyond that about this school.
